A local AI video editor for Windows, run by the AI you already use.
Cutroom is a complete desktop editor, and the editing happens on your own PC. Connect an AI you already use (Claude, Codex, Gemini, or another), ask in plain words, and watch it cut, caption, grade, and reframe on the timeline. Nothing uploads.
● connected to Cutroom on this machine
›make this a vertical short, add captions, cut the dead air
Reading each tool's manual first, then reframing to 9:16 on your face. Captions and the silence cuts after that.
Done. Trimmed 47s, 9:16 with captions on the timeline.
Every other AI tool guesses. Cutroom reads the manual.
Every tool ships with its own manual, and your AI reads the right one before it touches a frame. This is the real editor it drives.
By hand, or by AI
The same timeline either way. Drive it yourself, or ask your AI.
Nothing leaves your disk
Editing, transcription, and background removal all run on your machine.
Bring your own AI
One paste connects Claude, Codex, Gemini, or Cursor. Your account, your bill.
Works without AI
Connect nothing and it is still a pro editor. The AI only speeds you up.
Edit by hand, or hand it to an AI.
No AI-only mode, no human-only mode. 96 tools, and your AI reaches every one you do. Whatever it makes lands on the real timeline, yours to change.
By hand
Set the project to 9:16, turn on subject tracking, and let the crop follow your face.
Or just ask
“make this a vertical short and keep me in frame”
By hand
Transcribe on your machine, pick one of 27 styles, then fix any word in the caption editor.
Or just ask
“add captions in the bold style and fix my name”
By hand
Open smart editing, set a silence threshold, and run it over the clip.
Or just ask
“cut the silences and the filler words”
By hand
Open the color panel, pick one of 7 Looks, or import your own .cube LUT.
Or just ask
“warm this up and protect the skin tones”
By hand
Select the clip, open the voice tools in the Inspector, and pick a language.
Or just ask
“dub this one into Arabic”
Bring the AI you already use.
Cutroom speaks MCP, the open standard, so it connects to the agent you already pay for. Copy the setup, paste it in. No extra AI bill from us.
It checks its own work before it exports.
An AI that cannot see what it made is guessing. So before export, Cutroom makes it render the real frames, check the audio, and log what it found.
It looks at the real frames
Not the preview. The frames that will actually ship.
It listens for the damage
Clipping, and cuts that land in the middle of a word.
Export is gated on the review
No logged review, no file. Enforced, not suggested.
Your footage never leaves your disk.
The local part is the whole point. The editor, the transcription, and the background removal all run on your own machine. There is no bucket with your rushes in it, because there is no upload.
The honest exception: connect an AI and it does read frames and audio, because that is how it checks its own work. Anything you ask it to generate goes to the provider whose key you brought. None of that comes to us, and your files stay where they are.
Your originals are never modified
Cutroom edits from proxies and writes a new file at the end. The file you dragged in is the file you still have.
Transcription runs on your machine
whisper.cpp, offline, word-level timing. Your voice is not sent anywhere to be turned into text.
Background removal runs on your machine
Local ONNX matting. No green screen, and no round trip to somebody's cloud.
Your API keys are encrypted at rest
Stored encrypted on your machine. The AI can use a key. It can never read one back out.
Every other local AI editor asks you to give something up.
Run an AI editor on your own machine today and something has to give. The two built for creators only edit locally on a Mac. The free Windows one is built for generating clips, and wants a 16GB NVIDIA card to do it. The one that fits a pro workflow is not an editor at all: it drives Premiere or Resolve, which you buy separately. Cutroom asks for none of that.
| Product | Platform | Runs locally | Price model | AI provider |

| Opus Clip | Browser | No, your footage uploads | Subscription | Built in |
| Palmier Pro | macOS only, Apple Silicon | Partly, generation is cloud | Free editor, subscription for AI | Your own agent, or bundled models |
| ReelifyPhone apps too. The local editor is the Mac one. | macOS only, Apple Silicon | Yes, on the Mac | Subscription, or a one time deal | Built in, on device |
| LTX DesktopFree and open source. Generation first: its own repo calls it an app for generating videos. | Windows and Linux, NVIDIA only | Yes, with a 16GB VRAM card | Free | Built in, LTX models |
| JumperNot an editor on its own. It drives Premiere, Final Cut, Resolve Studio, or Avid, bought separately. | Windows and macOS | Yes | Lifetime or subscription, plus that editor | Bring your own |
Checked in July 2026, from each company's own site and docs. Two of them were running limited-time pricing that day, which is why this table states a model and not a number. Platforms and prices move, so check theirs before you decide.

- Hardware encoding, 4K and ProRes masters
- Per-project brand kit: colors, fonts, logo
One cut, every platform.
Seven export presets. Each one sets the size and the loudness that platform actually expects, and the encode is hardware accelerated. Tick the ones you need and Cutroom renders them in one pass.
TikTok / Reels
Vertical, with the loudness the feed expects.
YouTube Shorts
Vertical, ready to upload as a Short.
The landscape preset. This is the one to pick for YouTube too.
X
Sized and leveled for the timeline.
ProRes master
Source quality. Archive it, or hand it to a colorist.
Web
A plain file for your own site or a doc.
GIF
A short loop for a README or a chat.
There is no separate YouTube preset, and you do not need one. The 1920×1080 preset is the landscape master, so pick that.
Built by someone who edits every day.
No demo reel yet. Rather than dress up stock footage as our own work, here is the honest version.
“Every video I have posted lately was cut in Cutroom, captions and all. I am pushing it on bigger edits now. Real clips go here when they are mine to show.”
Buy it once. It is yours.
No subscription, and no fee per export. One key, on every computer you own.
The AI is one you bring yourself, like Claude, Codex, or Gemini, so that cost is between you and them. Cutroom is a full editor without it, and the editing always runs on your machine.
Runs on Windows 10 and 11. A GPU speeds up exports and AI upscaling but is not required. See the full system requirements.
- Lifetime license key
- Every computer you own
- Every update in this version
- Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit
- Works with your own AI (Claude, Codex, Gemini)
- No per export fees
What you need to run it.
Short list, and no surprises after you pay.
- Operating system
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. There is no Mac build, and we would rather say that here than sell you one.
- Graphics card
- Any. Transcription runs on your processor on any Windows PC. An NVIDIA card makes it faster, and that is all it does. You do not need one.
- Node.js
- Only for connecting an AI. The one-paste connection runs on Node, so install it before you connect your AI. Cutroom checks and tells you if it is missing. Every other part of the app works without it.
- An AI account
- Optional. Bring your own Claude, Codex, or Gemini if you want the AI. Cutroom is a full editor with nothing connected.
- Your license
- One key, on every computer you own. Sign in with the email you bought with and it attaches itself.
Good to know before you buy
Cutroom is a complete video editor for Windows that runs on your own PC. Edit it by hand like any timeline app, or connect an AI and ask for the edit in plain words.
Anything that speaks MCP, the open standard: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, OpenAI Codex, Google Gemini, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and Cline. One paste connects it, and you bring the account, so there is no AI bill from us.
Yes. It is a full manual editor on its own, with the whole timeline, captions, color, and export. The AI only speeds you up, so you can connect nothing and still do everything by hand.
Not by us. Editing, transcription, and background removal all run on your machine. If you connect an AI it reads frames and audio to check its own work, and anything you ask it to generate goes to the provider whose key you brought. None of your files come to us.
Yes, one payment, no subscription, and no fee per export. The key is tied to your account rather than to a machine, so it works on every computer you own with no device limit.
We email it right after checkout, and it registers under your Delivvo account. Open the app, sign in with the email you bought with, and the key attaches by itself, so there is nothing to copy or lose.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. No graphics card is required, though an NVIDIA one makes exports and AI upscaling faster, and connecting an AI needs Node.js installed. There is no Mac build.
Yes, for the editing. Once activated, the editor, transcription, and background removal run with no connection, and your license stays valid for 14 days offline. Only two things need the network: driving Cutroom with your AI, and generating media with your own key.
Yes. Drop in 16:9 footage and ask for a vertical short. Cutroom finds your face and reframes to 9:16, keeping you in frame, and it handles 1:1, 4:5, and 21:9 too.
Updates install inside the app, so there is nothing to download and reinstall by hand. Your projects and saved library stay exactly where they are, and every update in this version is part of the one-time price.
Support runs in the app once you are set up. Before that, use the question button on this page and we reply to the email you leave.
Yes. It ships an MCP server with 96 tools, and that is how your AI reaches the timeline. Unlike an MCP server that wraps ffmpeg and hands back a finished file, these tools drive a real editor you are watching, and you can undo any of it.
